Piano lessons were unusally brutal today, but in a very good way, I suppose. First, it was oh ninety degrees or thereabouts. While many don't realise it, playing piano at my level is often requires significant physical activity, which is something of a pain during the summer because of the sweating that ensues.

Oy. Never put two people with perfect pitch together in the same room, and more importantly yet, do not let them remember that they have perfect pitch. Otherwise strange ideas like cheating on scantron tests by whistling the answers will find themselves floating about, but those strange ideas managed to waste a good five minutes of English class ( Read more... )

When he is at the keyboard, he is one of the laziest pianists I think I've ever seen. He almost seems bored as he's rattling off some of the hardest piano technique in the instrument's repertoire, finds time to adjust his seat at least twice during the opening movement, and adds little flamboyant hand gestures at the end of his runs ( Read more... )
